SUMMARY OF RESEARCH:

I am conducting research on early identification, risk, resilience, prevention and intervention of developmental and behaviour disorders in children at-risk for developmental delay and autism. I am the team leader on the ASD-CARC prospective study. I also study parent and family outcomes, such as caregiver stress and depression in families raising children with or at-risk for developmental delay and autism. In addition to this line of research, I am involved with a team from Brock University developing and evaluating human rights training for persons with intellectual disabilities and their caregivers. Another line of research focuses on parents with intellectual disabilities and their children. I am collaborating with researchers from Johns Hopkins University to evaluate the training of parenting skills to prevent child neglect and child problems in these families.
